Apply for Eurostars
This funding programme is a very popular soft funding programme due to its high success rates that converge towards 30% of all submissions.
Eurostars supports research-performing SMEs and individual scientist to develop innovative products, processes and services to gain a competitive advantage. Eurostars provides funding for transnational innovation projects for rapid commercialisation and is an ideal first step in international cooperation enabling SMEs to combine and share expertise beyond national borders.
The applications are scrutinised by a panel of international research and business experts. This ensures that only the best ideas and strongest partnerships get the support needed. Eurostars helps businesses grow their teams, discover new expertise - and attract private investors.
The consortium must have partners based in at least two different Eurostars countries. Universities and large corporations can form part of the consortium.
Funding on average is in the range of 50-75% of project costs (national rules pending) and duration can be up to 36 months.
New Eurostars call for 2021
To keep supporting the R&D Performing SMEs of the Eureka countries, the European Commission and the Eureka Network are working on an additional Eurostars-2 call. Should it be finally approved, the call would open in early December 2020 and the submission deadline would be in early February 2021.
